I have bragged about the beauty of the book The Last Shepard. You put me on a different level pondering the wonder and awe of what one person is able to do for the goodwill of mankind.
We take for granted the gifts we've been handed down. This was quite a blessed week for me - old friends calling out of the blue, sipping coffee with my "naturalist" neighbor on Fowl River on her 2nd story screened porch watching the birds as well as the summer boaters, quality time with my 92 yr. old dad and the list continues. Today I hope to take a young unwed mother shopping to keep her spirits up, and praying for a family that's sitting on pins and needles in hopes of getting custody of two babies since the father died in a horrific plane crash. We are all so intertwined for a reason. And each situation brings me back to your book.
And last but not least, a friend who owns a small mom and pop restaurant called yesterday to see if they could have a fund raiser for our local Mitchell Cancer Institute for cancer research. They will be reading your book this week.
